Spring Release 2013 - School Census Summer 2013: Attendance • 4 Year Olds: • Attendance is collected for 4 year olds in the same way as it is for older pupils, but the DfE is actually only interested in whether they are present or absent for each of the relevant sessions • Therefore, there is no need for schools to collect reason for absence for 4 year olds

Spring Release 2013 - School Census Summer 2013: Details Reports • Absentees: • Absentees report is designed to reflect the DfE view on persistent absence in the Census Return - fewer absences used to indicate persistent absence

Summer Release 2013 - Items to be made available for September 2013 so they can be pickup up by School Census Autumn 2014 • Already requested by DfE: • School Phase of All Through - impacts throughout SIMS • Core Learning Aim - added to Focus | Student | Courses • Not yet requested by DfE: • There are likely to be further requests related to Post 16 funding for 2014, but it is now too late for us to deal with them in the Summer Release 2013
Summer Release 2013 - School Workforce Census 2013 • Changes to DfE Specification: • The DfE specification has not changed much for 2013 apart from moving the dates one year on • However, the DfE has told us that it is acceptable for a school to include an amount for Basic Pay that is not in line with what can be calculated from other information the school has included, e.g. scale • Dealing with Pay Issues: • We will introduce a panel for Payments Amounts. The panel will only appear if a patch has been applied to open up this new functionality • This will default the basic pay amount to what is calculate from the other pay details, or 0 if those details are not available • The school will then be able to change the Payment Amounts to reflect what they are actually paying
