What is football?  Football is a worldwide fastest and most popular team sport that also could be known as Soccer in some other countries, that involves kicking a ball with your foot in attempt to score a goal. The word football applies to whichever form of football is the most popular in the regional context in which the word appears, including American football, Australian rules football, Canadian football, Gaelic Football, Rugby league, Rugby Unionand other related games. These variations are known as "codes."The codes of football have some common elements: 1.There should be 2 teams playing against each other of usually between 11 and 18 players 2.An area to play in the match/game. 3.The players should score some point or goals moving the ball to an opposing team’s end of the field and either into a goal area or over a line, to decide a winner. 4.putting the ball between two goalposts, is the resaulting of goals or points. 5.The goal or line being defended by the opposing team. 6.Players are required  to move the ball by kicking, carrying of passing the ball. 7.Players use only their foot to move the ball.

  3. Where did football Originated from? Football originally referred to a variety of games in medieval Europe, that were played with foot usually by the peasants. Legend tells us that the first "football" matches were played by the mobs at public executions, using the unfortunate victim's head as a ball.  The origin of football / soccer can be found in every corner of geography and history. The Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Ancient Greek, Persian, Viking, and many more played a ball game long before our era. The Chinese played "football"  games date as far back as 3000 years ago. The Ancient Greeks and the Roman used football  games to sharpen warriors for battle.But it was in England that soccer / football really begin to take shape. It all started in 1863 in England, when two football association (association football and rugby football) split off on their different course. Therefore, the first Football Association was founded in England.

Football/ Soccer rules 1.Two teams of eleven try to guide a soccer ball into goal cages at opposite ends of the field, using different parts of their body. 2.Only the goalkeeper may use his/her hands. 3.When a penalty is committed inside the eighteen-yard-line, the opposite team is granted a penaltykick. 4.A direct kick is when a team gets a penalty shot on goal and no other player has to touch it before a goal may be scored 5.An indirect kick is the same as a direct kick, but another player must touch the ball before a goal may be scored. 6.When a player on a team kicks the ball out of bounds, a player on the opposite team throws the ball in bounds by an overhead, two-handed throw. 7.Shoulder - to- shoulder contact is allowed.

  5. Who made up the first organized set of rules for Football? Why did they do this? In 1863 the first soccer organization in the world was formed and it was called The London Football Association. This organization was made up by a  several football clubs that were called to decide a set of organized rules for the game of football, since it’s popularity was growing so it needed some form of organization. They met in London at the Freemason's Tavern in Great Queen Street. After the FA was formed, another great step in the history of British soccer was taken two months later, namely the birth of the Laws of the Game, which are still the constitution on which soccer is based.

  6. How many countries play Football as their national sport? The humble beginnings of football, in the major eastern schools and colleges, to the local athletic clubs across America, the rich history of football/soccer and men who loved it had created a national past time. This sports fans are not only in the America’s and Europe but all over the world are those devoted followers of this highly competitive game. Today you can encourage your favorite team whether its a professional national, college or university team to support it as they are on the fields. 

  7. Why do you think Football has become so popular around the world? (Describe 3 reasons and explain in detail why you think they were important). 1. In the game of football, size is not as important at all as in basketball, gridiron or rugby, so anyone with skill can become good at it.  2.Rich and poor alike, they all can play the game as it requires little equipment. 3.is watched and played more than any other sport globally mainly due to the excitement of hoping to see a goal and the importance each goal scored has on the flow of the match. 4.The running and movement during the game of football is considered as a really energetic sport to loose weight and excersice for example while running to catch the ball.

  8. Do you think there are different ways of playing, or styles, of Football in different areas around the world? In football you mainly use your feet, chest and head thus making the ball always open and so the game is fast paced and demands a vast array of techniques. But from a country to another the styles and plan of the teams vary due to many reason such as the English plan is depending on the wind conditions. Were as the Dutch football is all about attacking power so that's why the in the world are Dutch.
