  3. Alabama High School Diploma Advanced Academic Endorsement Honors Endorsement All required 30 credits to graduate Advanced courses Standard Diploma (24 credits) Advanced Diploma (24) College Preparatory Diploma (28) College Preparatory + Distinction (30) Honors courses THEN and NOW

  4. THEN 30 credits 4 X 4 Curriculum-any level of cores Health, PE, fine art, computer Must pass 5 subtests of AHSGE NOW 24 credits 4 X 4 Curriculum-any level of cores Health, PE, fine art, computer Must pass 5 subtests of AHSGE STANDARD to STANDARD

THEN 30 credits 4 X 4 Curriculum-any level of cores Health, PE, fine art, computer Must pass 5 subtests of AHSGE NOW 24 credits 4 X 4 curriculum-any level of English, SS & science Must take Algebra II/trig 2 foreign languages Health, PE, fine art, and computer Must pass 5 subtests of AHSGE STANDARD to ADVANCED

THEN 30 credits 4 X 4 curriculum-advanced or AP level 2 foreign language credits Health, PE, fine art, & computer Math- highest level=precal or Algebra III/stats Pass 5 subtests of AHSGE NOW 28 credits 4 X 4 curriculum-honors or AP level 2 foreign language credits Health, PE, fine art, & computer Math-highest level=precal or AP statistics Pass 5 subtests of AHSGE ADVANCED to COLLEGE PREP

THEN 30 credits 4 X 4 curriculum-highest level cores 2 foreign language credits Health, PE, fine art, & computer Must pass 5 subtests of AHSGE Math-highest level=AP Calculus or AP Stats 3.7 GPA required in designated subjects NOW 30 credits 4 X 4 Curriculum-highest level cores 2 foreign language credits Health, PE, fine art, & computer Must pass 5 subtests of AHSGE Math-highest level=AP Calculus or AP Stats 3.7 GPA required in designated subjects HONORS to CP w/Distinction

SENIOR EARLY RELEASE • Must provide documentation of enrollment in post-secondary institution or verification of employment • Must have passed all 5 subtests of the AHSGE • Must be on track for diploma option requirements • May leave after 2nd block • May not return to school campus during school hours • May return after school to participate in extra-curricular activities

  9. PRE-REGISTRATION • Classroom academic advising - February 17th – March 3, 2009 • Academic guides—New guides found at www.bcbe.org “Academic Guide” • Must re-declare a diploma and take courses that support that diploma-return diploma declaration forms with pre-registration forms • Pre-registration forms are a “WISH LIST”

  10. ACT/SAT • Recommend begin taking at end of sophomore year • Review scores • Seek remediation – see counselor for ways to prepare • Remaining ACT test dates • 04/04/09 • 06/13/09

  11. Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing (ADAW) • All 10th graders participate • Thursday, February 19th 8-10am

  12. Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE) • March 9-13, 2009 • Tutoring available in all subject areas • Tutoring schedule on web-site • Who tests???

  13. Pride Surveys • Complete the Pride Survey and return them tonight as you leave
