  6. Alliteration • Repetition of beginning sound • Example:The tiny turtle tiptoed to the tree.

  7. Personification • Giving human qualities to something not human • Example: The sun smiled at the children on the beach.

  8. Idiom • A well known expression that does not mean what it says • Example:Da’Shawna was under the weather yesterday.
