  2. Install an Artificial Grass Lawn

  3. Pre-installation  Remove existing materials. Are there any unwanted things like weeds, soil, or other substances above ground? You need to uncover the underneath wiring, irrigation system, and pipes.  If you have installed some sprinkle system, drainage or other irrigation systems, then you may have to relocate them or modify the existing lines.  When there are any wiring or electrical sprinklers, move them away from the hardscape. You eliminate the chances of accidental damage by doing this.  Experts suggest installing bender board. It gives a clean line and separation for the plants or bed.

  4. Prepare the base  Install the base material. It is a mix of sand and gravel. Apply a coating of three inches or more.  Level and drainage system are important aspects while preparing the base.

  5. Compaction  It is achieved by vibrating and tamping the gravel. Roll it to create a solid base. Additional leveling and grading are done at this time.

  6. Fitting the turf  The turf should be over cut by one inch along the edge. Thus, you can tuck the turf well.  For seaming, proper seaming tools should be used. Line it up well.  The cutting has to be done in an s-shape so that the turf pieces don’t push each other’s angles. If it happens, then it gives an illusion of discoloration and impacts the appearance.  The ideal distance to install nails is six inches.  It prevents the movement of the turf. Make sure the nails are not driven deeply in the ground. It will pull down the turf and create dimples on the surface.  U-nails should be installed at every six inches.

  7. Tuck the edges well  You should hide the edges of the turf by using a metal bar against the edging border or hardscape. Thus, you get a plush, clean look. It appears near identical to the natural grass.

  8. Apply filler  The grains of the grass needs to be pulled to stand up using a heavy bristled brush. You should apply infill sand after that. It is a safe option for pets or kids.  Spread the granules through the installation evenly. Filler acts as a balance to keep the blades of the turf upright.

  9. Grooming  Use a power brush to groom the artificial turf. Granules are inserted into the base for stability and settlement. Remove the debris if any. Your artificial grass lawn is ready.
