1. The Parade is a high energy, high speed event. You have 10ish minutes to roll through these slides and get folks excited. Cheering is encouraged, so WORK THE CROWD!
The National Fundraising Club items need to be organized long before the parade. Enthusiastic volunteers should be recruited to feature the prizes as they come through the crowd. Music should be used to keep it upbeat and fun.

2011 Vancouver, WA $1000 Club Celebration Highlights:
1) On Thursday prior to relay there were only “14” $1000 Club Members – at the Closing Ceremony on Sunday there were 50 Club Members
2) Saturday afternoon $1000 Club Members were called to the Main Stage to receive their 2011 $1000 Club Relay Rally Towel and a blinking $ Sign Pin; the $1000 Club Members took a Celebration Lap – waving their towels; cheering “we did it” ….
* The goal was to recognize the individuals for their outstanding fundraising, but also show them as a group – it is the group effort that makes such a huge impact on the overall event … 39.34% of the event total
* Highlight: when the $1000 Club Members took their Celebration Lap – participants came out of their tents and “cheered” them on!!! It was a “Celebration”
3) Sunday Morning – the $1000 Club Members are treated to a catering (donated) breakfast. It lasts an hour – during that time we have an ACS speaker to share ACS Breaking News and to thank them for their dedication and hard work; we also have a survivor speaker ………. And, LOTS of door prizes! There are several relayers that have extra gift certificates for restaurants, golf, spa certificates and then there a couple of “grand prizes” - this year we had Toby Keith tickets and a catered six-course dinner for eight (donated by breakfast caterer). It is at 7:30am … but, we do our best to be awake, cheerful and funny!!! (I have to find the funny people – it isn’t me at hour 21 of the relay)
4) We are planning a special $1000 Club “Members-Only” Dinner to take place in September.
