  7. 2016-17 Registration Dates • Busiest time of year so plan ahead - One month prior to registration date! • ER for Spring Semester: November 7-18 • See Kristina in October! • ER for Summer: March 6 -10 • See Kristina in February! • ER for Fall 2017: April 10-21 • See Kristina in March!

  8. New Drop Process • Use MyUI to initiate requests to drop both in-person and online courses • Instructor signatures are no longer required to drop courses. • You must notify each area from which you need permission that you want to drop. Automatic notifications are not sent to the advisor or others granting permission. • Once all permissions are granted, you will be notified by e-mail and through a MyUI message. • You must then complete the request to drop by submitting it on MyUI. If you do not complete the drop on MyUI after permissions are received, the course remains on your schedule. • May take up to 24 hours to drop off

Coaching Authorization • UISRM students can earn a five-year Iowa coaching license with a minimum of 55 total hours of instruction and completing: • SRM 3149 – Coaching Theory, Body Structure & Human Development • SRM 3155 – Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries • These classes are also part of the 12 s.h. Coaching and Sport Instruction Concentration.

Des Moines Opportunities • The Iowa Center for Higher Education offers an academic home for Iowa SRM students pursuing field experiences in Des Moines and Central Iowa. • Take classes at the Center while you are working in and around Des Moines to not lose the faculty, peer and university support found in Iowa City. • Contact Dr. Clint Huntrods (clint-huntrods@uiowa.edu) for more information and as you apply for independent field experience opportunities with the Iowa Cubs, Wild, Energy, Barnstormers, Des Moines Menace, Grand View or any of the regions Parks Departments.

Mount Union Sales Conference • A Friday in February – Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena • Elite “Hiring” Conference with hiring managers from around the country • Perfect for students who have taken Sales in Sport or are interested in sales jobs • Look for social media posts in mid-September when registration opens • Will make decisions in late October to allow for best pre-conference networking • Students from all levels encouraged to apply through Patrick-Moran@uiowa.edu • Last year’s fees were around $270 for registration and two nights hotel • http://www.mountunion.edu/sales

Special Presentation • President and Provost Award for Teaching Excellence • Only one Lecturer from all colleges and divisions throughout The University of Iowa receives this award annually. • Congratulations Dan!
