  3. The Development of Digital Portfolios NCATE status report There is a need . . . . • Address NCATE standards “use of technology” • Also to “develop professional portfolios” and. . . . 3. To replicate START workshop materials.

  4. Develop the Plan • Development of professional portfolios on power point by JSU student teachers would answer to all identified needs.

  5. Present the Plan • Department Chairs from all departments and the Associate Dean; NCATE ~ START materials . Feedback??

  6. Why Student Teachers? • They have the knowledge base in computer skills, • professional materials developed , • and are ready to enter the job market via application and interview processes.

  7. HOW? • Friday seminars (14); • All student teachers (262); • Report to campus with materials; • Leave with a product from the workshop.

  8. S0. . . .What Happened? • Associate Dean took the reins; • The Dean of COE very pleased; • Most Student teachers were pleased; • I have a new digital camera.

  9. Where Do We Go From Here? • Others now interested include. . . • School Counselor and Educational Administration programs; • Director of Student Teacher Placements.
