  1. Creating an Action Button in PowerPoint XP You will need to create all of your slides first. Then you are ready to start making buttons!

  2. Creating an Action Button • Select the “Insert” tab. • Click “Shapes” from the menu. • Scroll to the bottom for the Action Buttons

  3. Creating an Action Button • Select an action button from the menu • You will be returned to the screen with a set of cross hairs. • Click and drag the cross hairs to create a button.

  4. Creating an Action Button • The action settings menu will appear. • Click the “Hyperlink to:” radio button

  5. Creating an Action Button • Select “Slide…” from the menu list of options • Select which slide you want to hyperlink to and Click “OK”

  6. Creating an Action Button • You now have an action button on screen. • You can format your button to match your presentation. • Click on the button to select it.

  7. Creating an Action Button • To add text to your button, right click on the button and select “edit text”. • To edit the button, right-click on the button and select format shape
