Main Features to Know • Cell membrane- keeps the cell together, but lets in/out chemicals, and proteins. • Nucleus- contains the DNA of the cell. • Mitochondria- the powerhouse of the cell, where energy is converted for use. • Ribosome- contains RNA and protein synthesis. • Cytoplasm- a jelly-like substance filling the cell and surrounding the organelles.

  10. Main Features to Know • Cell wall- made of cellulose, gives the plant its structure. • Chloroplast- contains chlorophyll and is the site of photosynthesis in the cell. • Vacuole- a large space in the cell filled with fluid that helps to maintain the shape of the cell.
