  6. What is equality and diversity ? Equality can be defined as affording equality of opportunity to all people. Additionally, people who one or more of nine specific characteristics (e.g. Gender, Race and Disability) must be given equality of opportunity in accordance with discrimination legislation. Diversity can be defined as recognising and embracing the differences that exist amongst people both inside and outside of the legal framework
