Work Opportunity Tax Credit • Purpose Hire workers with disabilities and integrate the workforce • Expenses Covered Part of first year’s wages paid to worker with a disability, referred by VRS; others • Amount of the Tax Break 40% of the first $6,000 in wages paid the first year $2,400 cap per EE • Qualifying Businesses Employer who hires a person with a disability via a Voc Rehab Services referral

Ticket to Work Social Security Program for individuals receiving SSI / SSDI benefits that want to pursue employment or return to work. • Motivated individuals can still receive Social Security Income while they stabilize their employment. • Medicaid and Medicare offering extended coverage. Thus avoiding the immediate need for health insurance benefits for new employees. • Employment Networks / Service Providers work together with both theemployee and employer. Together reviewing and developing necessary job related services and training over time.
