What is the purpose of the Personal Progress Program? • Helps YW understand God’s will for her, • Encourages her to keep His commandments, • Prepares her to receive the ordinances of the temple.
What are the requirements to complete the Personal Progress Program? Live standards as stated in For the Strength of Youth pamphlet Complete six value experiences and one value project for each of the seven values Keep a personal journal and record your testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ.
Value Experiences • For each value: • 6 value experiences • 1 value project
Value Projects • Complete the 6 experiences for the value before starting your Value Project, and have your parents or YW leader approve the project before you begin. • You may include others in your YW project, but each project must take a minimum of 10 hours of your own time. • Personal Progress can be part of the good things you are already doing at home, church, school, seminary and in the community.
Personal Progress is the Young Woman’s responsibility • Each Young Woman has responsibility to prepare herself both temporally and spiritually.
Who Mentors Young Women? • Parents • YW leaders • Priesthood leaders • Other family members • Other Young Women • Their class presidency
Keep Progress Personal and Simple • Adapt goals to individual needs. • Keep the original intent. • You may work at your own pace, but you should ALWAYS be working on at least one experience or project. • Personal Progress activities may occasionally be held at Mutual. Guidebook, pg. 18
