  1. Plans for Simulation Tools Marcello Maggi INFN Bari CMS GEM Upgrade Workshop III

  2. SINP Plans The SahaInstitute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata, India is willing to contribute in the following areas: • GEM Geometry • GEM Simulation • GEM Digitization CMS GEM Upgrade Workshop III

  3. Geometry Tasks • GEM GEOMETRY descritpions • GEOMETRY Builders • Specific GEM DET ID definition • SIMULATION GEANT threshold parameters CMS GEM Upgrade Workshop III

  4. Simulation Tasks • SIMULATION FRAMEWORK • Implementation of a Trivial RPC-like Model (eff = 100%, cluster size = 1, perfect timing) • Implementation of a Simple RPC-like Model (average parameters common to all chamber) • Simulation Vs Test Beam Data comparison, parameter tuning • Implementation of a GEM Readout Model • As soon as data are available perform Simulation Vs Test Beam Data Comparison CMS GEM Upgrade Workshop III

  5. Ojective • The work should start asap • And a first GEM-like chain for single muon production need to be ready by the summer CMS GEM Upgrade Workshop III
