  1. Triple Ruffle Pants - From 16th Century Soldiers To Fashionable Millenials In the past few months, triple ruffle pants have come back in a big way. To the youngest generation, it probably seems like a new and bold fashion statement. But those among you who have been around a bit longer know that the triple ruffle pant design and ruffles, in general, have been in the spotlight before. The fabulous idea of standing out with big ruffles has actually been around for hundreds of years. That's long before Jerry Seinfeld brought them back into the spotlight with his famous puffy shirt. Flexibility And Simplicity Simplicity and flexibility make the ruffle a truly superb design feature. It's little more than a piece of cloth that has been severely wrinkled, yet it has often been a symbol of class, wealth, and elegance. The simplicity of the ruffle makes it possible to adapt to any style of clothing and any current fashion trend. Thus, it can survive from the battlefields of Germany to royal English parties, to the triple ruffle pants that we see today. The History Of The Ruffle Pants It's difficult to pinpoint exactly where a fashion trend first begins, but many people believe the ruffle design became popular during the 16th century. German soldiers would often wear multiple layers of clothing. Some of them would cut into the top decorative layer to reveal the lower layer, which was usually very plain. This would give the appearance of recently returning from a battle. The lower layer of clothes would eventually begin to wrinkle and the ruffle pants became a thing. It didn't take long for this ruffled look to become extremely popular. A wide, ruffled collar became commonplace during the same century. The triple ruffle pants would eventually make its way into all different clothing types. Even as the 20th century rolled around it was in shirts, hats, and pants.
