Operation & Usage • Operation • DHCPv6 client sends a SOLICIT /REQUEST /INFORMATION REQUEST message to DHCPv6 server • DHCPv6 server sends REPLY message with DNS zone suffix option to DHCPv6 client. • Usage • In stateful DHCPv6, the option will be placed in the options field of IA_PD option in an outgoing DHCPv6 message. • In stateless DHCPv6, the option will be placed in the main option buffer of any DHCPv6 message sent to a client. 3
