  1. Monday 9-23-13 • Fill out planner • Update Journal • Warm UP: • What is a wave? (What does it do?) • Which kind of wave is able to travel through space? • What would happen to us if it couldn’t travel through space?

  2. Monday 9-23-13 • Warm UP: • What is a wave? (What does it do?) • Which kind of wave is able to travel through space? • What would happen to us if it couldn’t travel through space? Rhythmic disturbance that carries energy. Transverse waves (like EMS including light) We would not get energy from the sun. (Plants couldn’t photosynthesize, temperatures would be extremely cold . . . )

  3. Doppler Effect Visual Concept http://Doppler Effect

  4. Frequency/wavelength As it moves forward it squishes light waves together causing shorter wavelengths As it moves away it spreads light waves apart creating longer wavelengths

  5. Decrease (Get smaller) Violet (Color with the shortest wavelength Increase (get bigger) Red (color with the longest wavelength

  6. To Do • Stella Star • (Use textbook chp 22, p. 594 )
