  2. My skin people • The most important characteristic in an African American comedy is that the majority of the people in it are African Americans!!!!DUH!!!!

  3. Laughing my butt off (LMBO) • The second obvious characteristic about an African American comedy is that it MUST be funny. A comedy as defined by wordnetweb.com is a light and humorous drama with a happy ending. If the movies is not like this or similar to this then it is not a comedy.

  4. “Break yo self fool” • The third characteristic of an African American comedy is the violence. MOST of African American comedies contain a violence in some sort or fashion.

  5. Madea Goes to Jail • This movie fits into this genre because it was written by an African American man named Tyler Perry. Its main characters are African American. Also this movies is hilarious. It will have you laughing for days. It also ends happily.

  6. Death at a Funeral • Unlike Madea Goes to Jail, Death at a Funeral was not written by an African American, but it does star African Americans. The movie is about an African American family. It is also ends with a happy ending no matter how much drama was in the movie. These facts are what qualify it as an African American comedy.
