  2. If a doctor says he is a plastic surgeon, then he is a plastic surgeon Anyone with a valid medical license can call himself a plastic surgeon. Only a specialist needs some special training and certification from American Board of Plastic Surgery. So, it is always important to research about your doctor’s background.

  3. After plastic surgery procedure, there will be no scars. Plastic surgery procedures cannot eliminate the scars completely. It can minimize the scars to the extent that it is barely noticeable.

  4. Plastic surgery is only for wealthy people. The cost of plastic surgery is coming down. Besides, there may be number of financing options available for you. You shouldn’t be rich to look good.

  5. Minimum procedure, no down time and maximum results. Plastic surgery is a very complex procedure. It takes lot of time to recover. The results will depend on the nature and complexity of surgery. The results can be fully predicted.

  6. Only one plastic surgery procedure can be done at a time A person can go for more than one surgery at a time. Prior to surgery a person has to go for physical examination and should be medically cleared by the doctor. The doctor may decide to do more on one surgery at the same time.

  7. Plastic surgery does not need follow up examination. It is always important to visit your doctor regularly to check whether you are healing normally or not. This can detect any complications at an early stage.

  8. Plastic surgeries are only for women. We all know that majority of customers of plastic surgeries are women. But, men are increasingly going for plastic surgery. Liposuction, Gynecomasty, Rhinoplasty etc are the most common treatment for men.

  9. Plastic surgery uses plastic materials. The techniques used in plastic surgery are based on  refining tissue and bony structures. The word plastic in plastic surgery is derived from Greek word  Plastikos, which means “to mold”. 

  10. Facial Plastic surgery can create a new face. Facial Plastic surgery does not change a patient’s face completely. It can help reduce signs of aging, restore function, or correct facial deformities. People will notice the change on your face but it won’t give an artificial look.
