  2. I'm cycling the Tour de France route to support a children's charity - take a cupcake and donate! What: William Wates Memorial Trust Why this charity: Supporting children earlier results in greater impact (see graph) Their mission: To help the most disadvantaged young people in the UK How: Programmes that engage young people through sports, arts and education About the charity Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting Individually-packaged so that you can take home as gifts or eat now Have as many as you’d like! You will receive an email today that allows you to donate from your paycheck About the cupcakes Supporting children earlier results in greater impact About the bicycling What: In July, I’ll be bicycling all 3,620km of the Tour de France route over 21 days1 Why: To support a children’s charity doing valuable work 1 Although I’ll be riding the same number of miles as the pros each day, there is a (naturally, very slight) possibility I won’t complete the miles at the same pace :-) SOURCE: The William Wates Memorial Trust – www.wwmt.org; Tour de Force - http://www.tourdeforce.org.uk/; “Inequality in America: What role for human capital policies?” University of Wisconsin-Madison Institute for Research on Poverty Many thanks for your support! – E.A.
