What was the SS? • private policie and militaries of Adolf Hitler and the • Nazi party. • It was built by the Nazi ideology. • It was command by HeinrichHimmlersfrom 1929 until 1945. • The SS was formed in 1925 and stands for “Saal-Shutz”. • “Saal-Shutz” means Assembley Hall protection. • Adolf Hitler founded the Schutzstaffel (SS) in April of 1925. • A group of personal bodyguards. • 300 members in 1925 to 50,000 in 1933 when Hitler took charge • of it. • Between 1934 and 1936 the SS gained control of Germany's police • forces and expanded their responsibilities SS symbol Heinrich Himmlers Andrea Bosio

  8. The SA is a group that Hitler made in 1921, it was founded in Munich. Also know as Strumabteilung and the brown shirts. It was a paramilitary organization by the Nazi party. Werner von Blomberg, Walther von Reichenau,  Hermann Goering and Heinrich Himmler. The SA had a lot of power. Leader: Ernest Rohem.  Gregor Strasser SS arrested Ernest Rohem. SS kill Ernest.   9. Roehm was replaced by Victor Lutze In 13 july Hitler claimed “61 had been executed while 13 had been shot resisting arrest and three had committed suicide. Others have argued that as many as 400 people were killed during the purge.” This was called the Night of Long Knifes. DAPHNE HIGUERAS

  12. Censorship, Law and Courts. • The purpose of censorship was the prevention of espionage and "subversion". The following contents were not permitted to be communicated: • Information on facts in the army which were subject to secrecy, • Rumours of all types, • Photos and pictures of all types which are subject to secrecy regulations, • Propaganda by the enemies (flyers), • Critical comments on measures taken by the army and the government of the "Reich", • Statements raising the suspicion of espionage, sabotage and "subversion".   13. Censorship, Law and Courts. Censorship was rampant throughout Nazi Germany. Censorship ensured that Germans could only see what the Nazi hierarchy wanted people to see, hear what they wanted them to hear and read only what the Nazis deemed acceptable. The Nazi police dealt with anyone who went outside of these boundaries. Censorship dominated the lives of the ordinary citizen in Nazi Germany. Joseph Goebbels
