Herpes treatment, herpes support, something you should know

Many feel anxious when they hear the word “herpes.” As a society, we tend to make jokes about herpes, rather than take it seriously. Perhaps because of this attitude, a good deal of confusion exists about herpes and how it's different from other types of common sexually transmissible infections (STIs). How to deal with this situation if you are suffering from herpes, that is what I will told you in this article.

  1. Still Living in HOPE though we are suffering from Herpes ----- My herpes treatment story

  2. Details of my condition • I've had HSV2 for over 20 years, contracting it during a long term relationship. Since both my partner and I has outbreaks well into the relationship and admitted either of us could have brought it into the relationship, there was no blame cast. It's been tough more recently as I lost a very special guy because of his phobia over the herpes virus. We didn't have sexual intercourse and I was careful (lots of reading about the disease) but he readily admits it is just too much for him, even though I "could have been the one.“ ( dating with herpes )

  3. Drugs I take & Dosages • For years I didn't take anything unless I had a outbreak but after a long talk with my GP I now take 1 x 500mg Valtrex daily.

  4. Other herpes treatments • Efficacy:It's been brilliant and I haven't had an episode in over a year (touch wood). I used to suffer an outbreak every couple of months, especially if I was run down or depressed. • Side effects:No side effects that I know of. • Other types of treatments:I'm keeping a close watch on www.admedus.com - Admedus (ASX:AHZ) is a diversified healthcare company with activities that are focused on areas of medical need to help patients who currently suffer reduced outcomes that adversely affect their quality of life. They are currently in Phase II of clinical trials for a vaccine being developed by Professor Ian Frazer and his amazing team.

  5. Advice to other members • Keep hope for a working vaccine. One in eight Australians are infected with HSV-2 and in the US, the Center for Disease Control estimates that 16% of Americans between the ages of 15 and 49 are infected with the virus. ( HIV dating sites on www.hivpositivedatingsites.net )The Phase II clinical trials shows that progress continues to be made with more than 80% of study participants having joined the study and some participants already receiving their first three doses. If the vaccine is approved, it could potentially address a market worth more than US$6 billion.
