  2. Zeus was the son of Cronus and Rhea. Zeus had five siblings. • Hades • Hestia • Demeter • Poseidon • Hera It was said that Zeus was father of all gods and mortals. He was in charge of the skies. He lived on the top of Mount Olympus.

  3. Zeus had many wives and affairs. Some goddesses, and some mortals. • Metis (first wife) • Hera • Themis He also had many children. Here are just a few…. • Apollo • Dionysus • Hermes • Athena • Helen • Ares The most famous child Zeus had was Heracles.

  4. Characteristics and Random Facts Zeus was pictured as a tall bearded man that was very strong. • violent, and deceitful. He loved beautiful women. And raped many too. He would sometimes disguise himself as gold dust or an animal and mate with mortals

  5. Zeus was said to be a man full of pride. He is caring, and he defended the things that he knew were right. Zeus was most known for his symbol, the thunder bolt, that he threw as a weapon when made angry. Other symbols that were related to Zeus were the Eagle, Shield, and oak tree.

  6. Childhood / Myths At the time Cronus was the supreme god. He was told that one of his children would try and overthrow him. So when a child of his was born he would eat them. Not Zeus though. When Zeus was born Cronus tried to eat him, but Rhea tricked Cronus into eating a rock that was wrapped in a blanket. When Zeus got older he received a thunder bolt from a Cyclops. He use that thunder bolt to go to war with the titans and his father. With the Cyclops's on his side he overthrew his father. (Ironic)

  7. Liar Liar • Zeus did not like liars and rule breakers. • He struck those down that disobeyed him. But helped those in need.
