  2. Story of Society A school of fish found a perfect floating island and wanted to live there. They all begged to the god Neptuna to turn them into humans. He told them he would grant their wish if they worshiped him, and ate sashimi (raw fish) every day.

  4. Religion The name of the religion is, Notsherism

  5. Religion The important deities are: • Geomano, god of Earth • Soluna, goddess of space and the stars • Fina, goddess of nature • Arodon, god of air and weather • Neptuna, god of the sea.

  6. Geomano (god of Earth) Geomano was the first god. He used his hair to bind the earth together and to make the first trees, used mud to make the Earth’s crust, used his skin to make the first animals, and threw meteors at the ground to make seas, oceans, and lakes.

  7. Soluna (goddess of space) Geomano accidently ate hot coals. As a result he spit Soluna out along with millions of diamonds. She used those diamonds to make stars, moons, and other planets. She and Geomano had 2 sons. Their names were, Arodon and Neptuna.

  8. Fina (goddess of nature) Fina is Geomano’s sister. She used trees for limbs, grass for skin, stars for eyes, the first animals for organs and cells, and water for blood; to make humans and many more animals.

  9. Arodon (god of air & weather) Because he was older than Neptuna he chose the air and weather for his place to rule. He teamed up with Fina his aunt to help him make a bird, and Neptuna to help him with rain. He used wind to trim trees and to filter the ocean.

  10. Neptuna (god of seas & oceans) Neptuna took grass and tied it together to make long strands of seaweed. He also combined the tadpole and the lizard to make fish. He takes care of the island Sashimi and helps the floating island migrate to good weather. When he is angry a storm breaks out and his breathing underwater creates waves and swells.

  11. Religion Treps (priests) will teach the religion to any one who goes to the temple.

  12. Religion The rules are: • Must go to the temple once a week or do community service once a week • Must respect treps ( priests) and elders • No violence • If your father is a trep you must become one • No murder.

  13. Religion The religion specifies many rules that everyone must obey, and is an important part of the culture of the people of sashimi.

  14. Recreation The main recreation is spear-surfing.

  15. Recreation On a single wave you must stand on a surfboard with a spear and spear as many fish as you can. If you fall you are disqualified.

  16. Recreation One day a man wanted to go surfing, but his wife told him to catch the family some fish. He loved surfing, but had commitments to his family so he multitasked and the sport of spear surfing was born. Anybody over the age of 21 can play.

  17. Recreation Spear-Surfing is an event that takes place twice a year, and is a big part of some peoples lives.

  19. Geography Sashimi is located on an island.

  20. Geography Sashimi is mostly forests and jungles with many rivers going through it.

  21. Geography Since Sashimi is an island the people eat lots of fish. Also since there are lots of rivers the farmland is quite fertile.

  22. Government The type of government is a Constitutional Monarchy. The gnik (king) and 20 patoes (representatives) are in charge of the government.

  23. Government If the gink (king) wants to make a law, 80% of the Patoes (representatives) have to agree. If a citizen wants to change and or make a law they must get 99% of the people to agree.

  24. Economics Sashimi fishes, farms tropical fruits, and spends a lot of time doing art, literature, and science.

  25. Economics The people of Sashimi mainly trade with Werarwee. They trade all surplus foods plus fish and any type of sea critters. They only trade for a certain time once a year because of migration routs. Every time they meet they share all their ideas and thoughts.

  26. Economics Sashimi exports to Werarwee every time its migration route brings them close together. Chief imports are pork, beef, poultry, and minerals. Chief exports are fish, fruits, vegetables, art, literature, and scientific thought.

  27. Education Parents are required to teach their children language and writing skills. At age ten all children are required to go to school to learn basics. After that, they can choose to go to a professional school where they can study a profession.

  28. Education Anyone can get an education.

  29. Military The military’s main job is to protect people and to fend off attacking nations. The leader of the military is the gnik (king).

  30. Military Military recruits are trained for 2 years by previously trained soldiers, and then do simple tasks in the society or train others.

  31. Military The military mainly uses the: wob (bow), worra (arrow), sward (sword), and prate (spear).

  32. Military The military has no real effect on the society. Because Sashimi is on an island that moves, war doesn’t break out often.
