Guiding Principles in GBV Programming • Overarching principle: “doing no harm” should guide every decision made • Ensure that all initiatives should respect survivors’ safety and autonomy • Ensure relevance and appropriateness of interventions to the local setting • Employ a public health and human rights perspective • Encourage multi-sectoral interventions at multiple levels • Invest in evaluation both for assessing results and for protecting survivors’ safety
