15 March 1997-Starting to pack • We need certain equipment to find the tornadoes equipment such as anemometers (to measure the wind pressure), a navigator, radios, cellular phones plus more equipment.
THE DESTRUCTION! • We also need to know what the tornadoes do and the destruction of them. • The way tornadoes are measured is on Enhanced Fujita scale. Usually it is called E.F. • Tornadoes are similar cyclones they have five different categories.
EF1 Tornado Destruction This is the destruction of an EF1 tornado in Springfield, America.
EF2 Tornado Destuction This is the destruction of an EF2 tornado in Oregon, America
EF3 Tornado Destruction This is the destruction of an EF3 tornado in Mena, Arkansas, U.S.
EF4 Tornado Destruction This picture was taken after an EF4 tornado struck the border of Kansas and Oklahoma.
EF5 Tornado Destruction This a photo of the destruction of a an EF 5 tornado at Greensburg, Kansas ,US
The Start • As we checked the monster for the millionth time, we were filled with excitement and we were a bit scared but the excitement of it over took it. The monster was our truck. • We geared up ourselves and then we went…
Here Stormy, Stormy • Uruhh, it has been 5 days and I’m already bored. I don’t know how long this is going to take. I keep joking about going on this trip and not even seeing anything. • The storm footage that I saw before was actually quite creepy. I imaged myself turning the monster around and pretty much running away.
Hurry up! • Now it has been 5 boring weeks of driving around doing nothing but siting and waiting. NOTHING ELSE!!!! As you can probably tell I am not happy, I am very bored. At the moment I am considering of abandoning this and going back to my normal job. • OH MY GOD it has been 7 completely boring weeks. We are actually starting to try and turn around at the moment. I don’t know how the other storm chasers stand it. I guess they are probably used to it and we haven’t exactly had much experience, but still it is boring. We have swapped over with the driving and the navigating several times.
WE ARE GOING! Stuff this we are going! This is boring and we haven’t even seen anything.
