NAVY MEDICINE OPERATIONAL TRAINING CENTER Naval Expeditionary Medical TrainingInstitute (NEMTI) Courses of Instruction Expeditionary Medical Facility /COLPRO Training Expeditionary Medical Unit Training Tactical Combat Casualty Care (Provider & Train the Trainer) Naval Trauma Training Center (LAC+USC) Purpose: Provides instruction on the assembly, disassembly, establishment of command structure, basic operations, medical operations and Collective Protection Systems of an Expeditionary Medical Facility. Also provides instruction for deploying medical forces to Role II & III operations. Provides stabilization trauma care experience at the Navy Trauma Training Center located at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.

NAVY MEDICINE OPERATIONAL TRAINING CENTER Naval Special Operations MedicalInstitute (NSOMI) Courses of Instruction Special Operations Combat Medic/HM-8427/5392 Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman/HM-8403 Special Operations Combat Medical Skills Sustainment Course. Purpose: Conduct combat medical training for Special Operations Forces to include Recon Corpsman, SEAL and Surface Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman (SWCC) Medics under U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

  12. NAVY MEDICINE OPERATIONAL TRAINING CENTER R.P. Mitchell Center for RepatriatedPrisoner of War (RPOW) Studies Info: Performs more than 250 RPOW evaluations each year for members of all services as well as the State Department. Functions as the only longitudinal study of RPOWs. SECNAV directed the creation of the Mitchell Foundation, a private 501C3 corporation, to help support the Center’s research efforts. Purpose: The Mitchell Center provides annual clinical evaluations and conducts follow up studies of RPWs from Vietnam, Desert Storm and OIF, in order to evaluate the mental and physical effects of captivity and as well delineate the predictors of repatriate resilience.
