Background • Part 2A is used by Local Authorities but there are difficult decisions to take • The new Statutory Guidance created 4 Categories • DEFRA wanted to provide assistance in the difficult cases – Category 2/3 borderline • Aim is to support LAs in their decision making as to whether the land is or is not contaminated • Only open to LAs to submit cases • Case studies / lessons learnt will be published
