  1. TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS INNOVATION FORUM “The Green Technology – New Opportunities For Business” October 21st, 2009, Wednesday (8.30am- 1.00pm)Auditorium, Level 1, Enterprise 4, Technology Park MalaysiaBukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur There is growing global concern over climate change and global warming. The implications on the world economy can be retrogressive. Not to mention the threats posed to nations which are exposed to excessive rise in sea levels. In December there is going to be a big UN meeting to discuss the follow-up to the Kyoto Protocol. This will be held in Copenhagen. Already groups ranging from NGOs, governments and the academics have had their own meetings. They have also developed their own lists of recommendations to be submitted for the December meeting. Whatever it is, all agree that human activities have been a major contributor. Unchecked use of fossil fuels, for example, is a matter of great concern. Efforts to seek alternative sources of energy have been an ongoing undertaking. So far, there is no viable alternative in sight to match the cost and availability of fossils. Parallel to such initiatives are efforts to develop more efficient ways of using fossils. Many countries have promoted the use of more energy efficient technologies. In Malaysia, the government has recently launched the green technology policy. What exactly will the policy do for the country? Are there business opportunities waiting to be tapped in the growing demand for the so called low carbon technologies? There is consensus everywhere that the green economy is set to generate a range of business opportunities not only in Malaysia but also the region and the world. Technology Park Malaysia Corporation, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote the technology and innovation business will organise its flagship Technology Business Innovation Forum to provide more information and clues to the potential business and research opportunities. This will be held on 21st October 2009 at TPM auditorium. The forum promises to be informative and thought provoking. It will definitely be of interest to those to learn more about what the government has in mind and the various opportunities offered by green technology. These are some of the issues to be addressed at TPM’s forthcoming Technology Business Innovation Forum on “The Green Technology – New Opportunities for Business ” on October 21st . We look forward to meeting you there. Detail of forum are attached for your further reference.
