If you would like to print this CBT: • Return to the DCS web page. • Right click on the link to the CBT and choose “Save Target As…” • Choose a location on your computer to save the file and click OK. • Go to Start, Programs, Microsoft PowerPoint. • Choose “Open an Existing Presentation”. • Choose the CBT file that you saved above. • Choose File, Print from the menu. 4. Trial Home Visit is another in-home placement type and should only be used when a client is returned home to be placed with his/her caretaker as a trial visit before being permanently released from DCS custody. A caretaker must be specified and is considered to be one of the following: Relative, God Parent, Friend, Neighbor, Church Member, Minister or Teacher. There is no daily payment rate associated with this placement type. A client can be placed in the home of a Birth Parent of any age if the case manager approves the Birth Parent’s parenting skills. 6. Placement Icon The user will double click on the Placements Icon located at the case detail line. EXIT

7. To enter a new placement right click and select ‘Add Placement Location’. Adding a Trial Home Placement EXIT

8. Add Placement Location The user will select ‘New Placement Location’ and click OK. EXIT

9. The user will select ‘In-Home’ and click OK. Add Placement Location EXIT

10. Select Placement Type The user will enter the date and select ‘Trial Home Visit’ from the Placement Type drop down list. EXIT

11. The user will choose the correct Role from the drop down list. Select Significant Role EXIT

12. Select Client’s Caretaker The user will click on the ellipsis box next to ‘Location’ and then select the Client’s Caretaker from the pop-up screen. EXIT

13. Previous Placement Program Completed The system will enter the Service setting, AFCARS, Location, Address and ID information. The user will Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ from the Completed drop down list. The user will then click OK. Please refer to the Discharge Reasons training document. EXIT

14. The placement is added to the client’s record. The user will also notice six additional tabs. These tabs are read only for the case manager. Completed Trial Home Placement EXIT

15. There are no reports specific to this placement type although many existing reports will report on this new placement type. Reports EXIT

16.
