The navigational guides require a single mouse click and may appear in different areas of a slide but, the majority are located on the right side of the screen. Some slides may have additional information that has been timed to appear on the slide. You may want to make sure you have given time for this to occur before proceeding to the next slide. Trial Home Visit is another in-home placement type and should only be used when a client is returned home to be placed with his/her caretaker as a trial visit before being permanently released from DCS custody. A caretaker must be specified and is considered to be one of the following: Relative, God Parent, Friend, Neighbor, Church Member, Minister or Teacher. There is no daily payment rate associated with this placement type. A client can be placed in the home of a Birth Parent of any age if the case manager approves the Birth Parent’s parenting skills. Placement Icon The user will double click on the Placements Icon located at the case detail line. EXIT
To enter a new placement right click and select ‘Add Placement Location’. Adding a Trial Home Placement EXIT
Add Placement Location The user will select ‘New Placement Location’ and click OK. EXIT
The user will select ‘In-Home’ and click OK. Add Placement Location EXIT
Select Placement Type The user will enter the date and select ‘Trial Home Visit’ from the Placement Type drop down list. EXIT
The user will choose the correct Role from the drop down list. Select Significant Role EXIT
Select Client’s Caretaker The user will click on the ellipsis box next to ‘Location’ and then select the Client’s Caretaker from the pop-up screen. EXIT
Previous Placement Program Completed The system will enter the Service setting, AFCARS, Location, Address and ID information. The user will Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ from the Completed drop down list. The user will then click OK. Please refer to the Discharge Reasons training document. EXIT
The placement is added to the client’s record. The user will also notice six additional tabs. These tabs are read only for the case manager. Completed Trial Home Placement EXIT
There are no reports specific to this placement type although many existing reports will report on this new placement type. Reports EXIT
