Dr. Magoun is shown with the second animal stereotaxic instrument used in the United States. It was given to him by Professor Earnest Sachs of St. Louis. Prior to coming to UCLA in 1950 Magoun was a Professor of Neuroanatomy at the Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago.
