Utah has the 2nd most expensive fine for texting and driving of $750.00 behind Alaska which is a whopping $10,000.00 according to CBSnews.com
In some states, the penalty for getting in an accident and killing a person can be as light as a fine. • As of 2009, Utah passed a law stating that texting and driving is a “Wilful act” therefore can land you up to 15 years in federal prison and/or a fine of $10,000.00 if the accident causes death or injury due to texting and driving.
