  3. Participatory Research • Access local people’s environmental knowledge: • Changes in weather and seasons • Changes in animals, plants & crop yields • How the community has adapted in the past • District council and national Government knowledge and resources

  4. Participatory Assessment • Vulnerability Risk Assessments • Environmental Assessment • Ensure projects don’t harm the environment • Identify the need for any new projects for climate change adaptation • How can Communities develop sustainably?- Renewable energy projects?

  5. Education • Identify organisational & community training needs • Work with other agencies • Share adaptation designs • Train community, including children in:- causes of climate change and environmental degradation- our impacts on the environment- sustainable development

  6. Local Advocacy • Identify opportunities for positive local advocacy

  7. Share our knowledge • Linking into supporting networks to increase our capacities • Other agencies • Micah Network • Climate Action Network • Red Cross Climate Centres • Government Contacts – from NAPA/ NC • Other Tearfund Partners • Specialist Consultants
