  3. What Needs to Happen at Annual Town Meeting • Majority Vote to Approve Preliminary Design of Library • 2/3 Vote to Rezone the Library Parcel (13 Main Street) and Adjacent 9 Church Street from Residence A to Downtown Business District • No Town Funds Have Been Spent to Date

  4. Preliminary Design • PBC Listened to Town Feedback • Returned Library to Existing Site • Reduced Square Footage • Designed Building with Flexible Floorspace • Utilize as Library Space • Suitable for Adaptive Reuse • Multiple Designs Reviewed and Revised Utilizing Town Input

Rezoning • Town Zoning Map Indicated Current Library Zoned Downtown Business • Current Library Zoned Residence A • 9 Church Zoned Residence A • Parcels East, West and North of Library Zoned Downtown Business • Parcels across Church Street from 13 Main and 9 Church Zoned Downtown Business • New Library Designed Consistent with Downtown Business Requirements

Planning for a New Library • 2001 • 2008 • 2009 • 2010 • 2010 • 2011 Library Trustees purchase 9 Church Street for expansion of Library Library Building Program created with input of community State announces 2010-2011 Library Construction Grant ATM authorizes Town to: apply for Library Construction Grant, and accept transfer of Library Hopkinton works with community to conduct feasibility study and preliminary design Hopkinton submits application for Library Construction Grant
