Status in 2006 • Computer room was under construction. • Computers in packets. • No period allotted for computer in routine. • No facilitator. • No dues were collected from the students.
Teaching Method • Class room teaching. • We try to complete most of the portion in class-VIII as students have a heavy syllabus to complete in class-IX • Fundamental of computers & Windows. • Students are grouped for practical. • Paint brush - all options dictated in the class. • Practical for paint brush. • WordPad – all options dictated in the class. • Practical for WordPad. Ms Word • All options dictated in the class. • For practice students are asked to write small paragraphs on small topics, from their books, articles from news papers, designing of marriage cards & greetings to learn formatting. Contd…
Ms PowerPoint • All options dictated in the class. • For practice project preparation through engaged learning & activity learning. • Small projects are identified from their books. • They are asked to make project records. • Project records corrected by the subject teachers. • Soft entry by students. Ms Excel • All options dictated in the class. • For practice – miniature representation of result analysis, report card, score board, school strength, girl population in their locality, old people in their locality etc. • Group of 5 make charts for 10-15 people. • Represent them in graph.
During this teaching learning process students come with many innovative ideas & themes. • Example – Comic representations, cricket scores, musical representations, scientific discovery, calendar, pictorial depiction of poems from their syllabus etc. • They are encouraged & given preference. • In a class dull students are identified & given the task of data entry of the project material prepared by students with good IQ. Syllabus • Fundamentals, Windows, Folder creation, Desktop change, Word pad, Paint brush, are taught in the shortest possible time before getting into Ms Office. For detailed syllabus covered by us please click on the button.
Precautions to be taken while teaching Following options are not taught to avoid unnecessary problems. • Renaming of folder. • Password protection. • Enter to the drives. • Complicated options like Mail merge, Hyperlink, Add ins, • How to handle control panel and its settings. • All the necessary pictures which students may need while preparing projects are kept in folder on desktop to avoid their unwanted entry into other drives. Records maintained • Student’s attendance register. • Teacher’s attendance register. • Project register (contains instructions & guidelines by the coordinator). • Project file (contains written work by the students).
Lab maintenance • Every day all systems must be cleaned with a duster. • Lab should be kept spick & span. • Shoes & socksto be kept out side the lab. • Systems to be scanned on a day to day basis. • Defragmentation should be done weekly. • Keep back up of all necessary files.
Hardware maintenance • Keep contact numbers of hard ware maintenance vendor. • Immediately give a complaint. • Keep records of the complaints. • Follow up every day. • If not attended then inform AIF representative with date wise details for further actions.
2006 Computer room was under construction. Computers in packets. No period for computer. No facilitator. No dues were collected from the students. 2008 One of the best computer rooms in CTC dist. All computers in working condition & properly maintained. Two practical and one theory per week for each class. Rs.10 is collected from each student per month. Comparative status
Achievements • 80% students can work on computer independently. • Science practical examination conducted on computers. • All administrative jobs of the school are computerized . • Two teachers involved in project development.
Special program in summer vacation • Lab is open for two hours every day. • Everyday 25 students attend the class. • 42 small projects prepared by the students in last summer.
