  3. Alexander the Great • The king of Macedonia Alexander was born in Pella, Macedonia. Under his rule the Greek city-states were united.

Alexander the Great • Alexander was a great leader and tactician bringing Rome together he destroyed Thebes to scare others into submission reassuring everyone feared his army he conquered Alexander conquered the Achaemenid Persian Empire, including Anatolia, Syria, Phoenicia, Judea, Gaza, Egypt, Bactria, and Mesopotamia, and extended the boundaries of his own empire as far as Punjab, India.

  5. Alexander’s Empire • Alexander conquered a huge amount of land starting in Macedonia moving to Egypt and expanding onward.

  6. Alexander the Great • Alexander the Great coming out of Macedonia defeats the Persian emperor and brings the word of Greek fulfillment to all of his territories.

  7. Alexander’s Achievements • Alexander changed the world, but not through his accomplishments on the battlefield. Alexander carried the ideas of the Greeks and their love of learning throughout his empire. He founded the great city of Alexandria, which became a center of learning and culture in Egypt. A library in Alexandria housed the accumulated knowledge of the Greeks.
