  1. FUN FRIDAY FITNESS FIFA World Cup Brazil Over the holidays there has been a very special event it was the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The FIFA World Cup is special because all the Country’s from the whole World come together to play the most popular sport in the world and have fun. The FIFA World Cup can be disappointing and exciting. The score for has finished and Germany have won it, the teams in the grand final were Germany and Argentina was 1-0 to Germany they scored in the 2nd half of extra time in the 113th minute by Mario Gozte. Lionel Messi is an Argentinian player who got the golden soccer ball which is a trophy and Manuel Neuer is a German player and he got the golden goalkeeper glove which is a trophy too. There were two Semi Final games the 1st one was Germany and Brazil which was a thrashing the score was 7-1 and the other Semi Final was the Netherlands and Argentina which was a very tight game they had to go to penalty shootouts and Argentina won. Tom A At Darlington Public School we have sport every Friday. At school sport we play all sorts of different sports like: Soccer, Dodge ball, and a whole lot of other sport that we enjoy. Some students go on a bus to Moore Park and compete against lots of other schools in OZ tag. There are the juniors and the seniors and both are separated into three teams. The A team, B team and the C team. I am in the A team and I enjoy playing. I have great teammates and we have worked to be a good team and it has paid off. Fire flies dreaming the moon is surrounded by fireflies they’re talking to you like they’er your friends but in a better and stronger way you are lucky to have them as they take you to bed so when you sleep you’ll never awake unless you have a bad dream then they will comfort you. by alexandra L Find a word Athletics Carnival This is an event where student at our school compete against each other in races and the long jump. They have to compete against people that are their own age. If you come first, second or third you get a ribbon that reflects your achievement. Everyone who participates gets a participation ribbon. Participation is important because for every person that participates is another point for their house. There are three teams called Trugannini(black),Pemulwuy(red)and Yagan(yellow).After the athletics carnival we have an assembly in a few weeks’ time where the winning house will be announced and the team that wins gets a big trophy. The carnival is also preparation for competing against other schools. On August 13th those students who got the best times in their races will go to the District Carnival to represent their schools. A number of students from the Koala Class will be competing at this event. We hope you enjoyed the races and had lots of fun at the athletics carnival.
