  1. eNlight-Virtual Machines

  2. 1) What features does the control panel for the management of VMs? The key features of the eNlight web-based control panel include: * Create, modify and delete Virtual Machines * Control the state of your virtual machines, so that you can Start, Stop and Reboot them as necessary * Forecast your future bills * Manage the disk space allocated to VMs * Access a VMs console directly.

  3. 2) How do I create a new VM? Creating a new eNlight VM is a very simple process: 1) Select the template that you would like to use 2) Optionally, set the maximum scale limits for RAM and CPU 3) Click Create; your new VM should be ready for use in around 10 seconds.

  4. 3) Can I manage my eNlight Cloud? You will be able to manage every aspect of your eNlight Cloud through the intuitive web-based control panel that we offer.

  5. 4) How do I check my VM’s resource usage through the control panel? You can check the live resource usage of your VMs through the control panel.  Usage logs generated every 5 minutes can also be accessed.

  6. 5) Will I be able to create Virtual Machines for my customers and monitor their usage? Yes, you can create VMs for your customers.  The eNlight control panel can then be used to monitor the usage of these VMs.

  7. 6) What happens if I accidentally delete one of my VMs? Will it be recoverable? Deleted VMs are sometimes kept on the main node for a short while after deletion, however recovery of a deleted VM is never guaranteed.  If we can recover your deleted VM, you will be required to pay for the duration that the VM was available up until it was deleted.

  8. 7) What is the speed of each VM in the eNlight Cloud? The speed of each VM is generally dependent on the CPU and other hardware used in the host node.  Our current eNlight nodes use Intel Xeon X5660 CPUs that clock in at 2.8GHz each.  A certain number of vCPUs are assigned to each VM and each vCPU runs at the same speed as the CPU at the heart of the host node.

  9. 8) Are there any hidden costs? The eNlight cloud works on a pay-as-you-go model, therefore meaning costs will only be invoked when creating a new VM.  Whilst there are no hidden costs, you should consider that any license fees for third-party applications and additional IP addresses would be billed separately.
