General Status • Completing the EIS Conceptual Design • Identified Critical Interface and Technical Issues Within the Experiment • Have Pursued Specific Cost and Technical Issues Within the US Components Development Program, Optics, Filters, Actuators, etc. • Have Completed the Conceptual Design and Prepared for Expected Phase B Breadboard Development • Have Significantly Iterated and Optimized the Overall EIS Design • Have Calculated Exposure Times for Numerous Configurations • Have Modeled Precision of Doppler and Turbulent Velocity Measurements

Optical Subsystem Status • Design Principles and Trade-Offs Well Understood (>10 Designs Studied) • Present Design Satisfies Science Objectives While Minimizing Risk and Cost • Mirror and Grating Specifications Have Been Sent to Vendors for Comment • First Cut Sensitivity Analysis Has Been Conducted • Filter Specifications Are Being Iterated

NRL Mechanism (MIR, SLA, GRA) Status • Conceptual Design Has Been Completed • Conceptual Design Satisfies Requirements • Actuator Specifications Have Been Drafted and Iterated With the Vendor • Location, Fit, and Mounting Point Issues Have Been Resolved • Draft Electrical Interface Document Has Been Written
