  3. Nomination Campaign Strategy • Appeal to the conservatives • Radical Republican with many of the far right wing tea party ideals • Not afraid of causing controversy

  4. Strengths and Weaknesses • Far right conservative candidate • Intimidating • Consulted with Freddie Mac which has created bad publicity for him • Seen along with Romney as being too financially well off to relate to working class

  5. Groups supporting/not supporting Gingrich • Far right Conservatives – Anti- abortion, Second Amendment, deregulation • Tea Party- Endorsement by Herman Cain • Weakest support from moderates and liberals

  6. Primary Themes • Remove Anti-Religious policies such as money for Abortion • Keystone Pipeline • Change Healthcare systems allowing people to create Private savings accounts (HPS) • Liberal Immigration policy “humane”

Primary/Caucus Results • Performed highly in South Carolina Primary • Did not do as well in Iowa Caucus or New Hampshire Primary finishing fourth and third respectively • Romney seems to be leading Gingrich in the Florida Primary campaigns with more Romney publicity occurring in the form of ads than Gingrich
