CONCEPT • ‘e-Payment of Central Excise and Service Tax’ is an additional mode of payment. • It is an additional facility offered to the indirect taxpayers besides conventional procedure. • Excise and Service Tax payment is possible on 24x7 basis. • Extended time for making payment i.e.. even after the closure of bank counter (up to 8PM). • No need of being in queues and waiting at Bank’s counter.

  3. CONCEPT cont’d….. • On-line filling of single challan. • Facility is available through the Banks authorized to collect Indirect Tax Revenue for the particular Central Excise Comm’t and offering e-Payment solution. • Taxpayer can make Indirect Tax payments from any where to the Comm’t to which he is assessed/attached.

  4. SOLUTION AVAILABLE TO • Customer of any of the Internet Banking Branch • An Indirect taxpayer who possesses PAN based 15 digit Assessee Code. • Taxpayer having registration for Internet banking with the bank providing e-Payment facility. • Taxpayer having Bank’s Internet banking ID.

  5. Payment Timing • This is a 24x7 facility and as such customers can make the payment any time any day from anywhere. • All payments effected up to 8 PM will be accounted for the day itself and all payments effected after 8 PM will be accounted as next working day’s receipt

  6. Open the Bank’s website and find out.. • CBEC payment OR • Indirect Tax payment OR • Excise and Service Tax payment OR • Central Govt. Payment Any of the above option will take the customer to secure banking area of the concerned Bank for verifying the user ID and password provided to the taxpayer by the Bank

  7. Pay Tax menu will offer.. • Central Excise • Service Tax • Other Central Govt. Payments The option 1 and 2 will take the customer to On-Line Filling of Challan Provided to the taxpayer by the Bank

  8. On-Line Challan Filling.. • On-Line validation for Assessee Code which is mandatory to process further, then • Automatically Banks System will fill the Location code and addresses. • Select the taxes from drop-down menu and fill the amounts you want to pay against them. • Click on “Payment” option. Payment option will take the customer to ‘make payment screen’ of the concerned Bank showing the paying details filled by the customer on the On-Line Challan format.

Make Payment Screen • Option to “Continue” or “Cancel”. • On selecting “Cancel”, the taxpayer goes back to Bank’s main web page. • On selecting “Continue” option, the taxpayer is prompt for entering his user ID and Password to enter into the Bank’s e-transaction module. • Taxpayer have to select an account to which he want to use/debit for making payment. • Authorize the payment A message for successful payment will pop-up on the screen showing “Unique Transaction No.” instantly and customer will see the “Cyber Receipt with “Print” option.

  10. Instant Cyber Receipt • Option to “Print” or “Cancel”. • On selecting “Cancel”, the taxpayer goes back to Bank’s main web page. • On selecting “Print” option, the taxpayer can get printed Cyber Receipt showing all the payment details and Unique Transaction No. • Bank will deliver receipted Challan copy to the customer’s mailing address. A message for successful payment will pop-up on the screen showing “Unique Transaction No.” instantly and customer will see the “Cyber Receipt with “Print” option.
