  2. Sarcasm Definition:mocking, contemptuous, or ironic language intended to convey scorn or insult. synonym:. sardonicism, bitterness, ridicule Example sentence: Not helpful, to me, is the sarcasm and put-down language.

  3. Winced Definition: to draw back or tense the body, as from pain or from a blow; start; flinch. Synonym: blench, quail, dangerous, fearsome, difficult, threatening, or unpleasant. Example sentence: She winced when she heard the frequent striking of hoofs.

  4. Scowled Definition: to contract the brows in a threatening or angry manner. Example sentence: She extracted the offending bottle and scowled at me.

  5. Sagely Definition: a profoundly wise person; a person famed for wisdom. Example sentence: And the members of the panel sagely nodded their heads.
