  2. Corporal M. Rudisail VSU Police Department 4 years. 9 years at Lowndes County Jail 20 Years in Air Force as a Security Policeman. Retired in 1995 from Air Force.

  3. Education Associates Degree- Air Force Community College When time permits, he’s going back to school for a higher degree.

  4. Why work for VSU Police Department? Next logical step for him. Wanted to deal with “Educated People.” Because Policing is what he did in the Air Force. The job allows you to think for yourself and make your own decisions. Able to use a lot of discretion.

  5. What’s Expected From Your Position? The use of tact & discretion. Enforce & Follow all laws. “Character counts while on & off the job.” Integrity Be able to communicate with anybody on campus since it’s a variety. Be able to think quickly and use good judgement.

  6. VSU Police Department Mission Statement Valdosta State University Police are committed to creating an environment at Valdosta State University in which teaching, and public service may flourish. All personnel are dedicated to excellence in upholding and enforcing the law, and managing risks to students, faculty, staff, and visitors at VSU.

  7. VSU Police Officer Likes Dislikes • It’s definitely not the money! • Schedule: Off every weekend. • The use of discretion • Not micromanaged • Just knowing that you have a part in protecting others. • “Arm Chair Quarterbacks”-Someone who offers unwanted advise. • Being second guessed when the right decision is made. • Having to “Bite my tongue” on some issues. • Decisions not going his way in some cases.

  8. My Opinion Likes Dislikes • Being able to secure the campus. • Knowing that I could help save someone’s life. • Being able to use discretion. • Long hours- 12 hour shifts. • A lot of paperwork. • Dealing with difficult situations. • Being responsible for a lot of people.

  9. Interesting Information • People loose a lot of things on campus. • How people get themselves into certain situations on campus is unexplainable. • When you’ve think you seen it all, there is always worse.
