  2. About MTM…. • Millennial Tech Middle is the place for students who love STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics! • We are fully dedicated to STEM as a Magnet school. • Currently 600 students in grades 6 -8 attend MTM.

  3. STEM Magnet Program • Students participate in projects, clubs, competitions, research and hands-on experiments around the STEM theme. • Netbook Computers for every student w 3G access • Computers to go home after Parents attend the LOGO training • 20 inch I Macs in every class • I pod Touches for use in core content areas • I pads for Digital Book Clubs • Robotics, Mathematics, and Science Clubs

School Bell Schedule 5 Periods every day – 78 minute classes 6 Subjects for the year + Wheel Courses 8:55 School begins 4:00 pm School day ends (Mon – Tues- Thurs- Fri) Zero Period begins each day 68 minutes (Except Wed) Wednesday Early Release 1:00 pm BEGINS SEPTEMBER 14 Team Teachers Mathematics and Science (1 Teacher) English Language Arts and History (1 Teacher) Gateway to Technology or MESA Physical Education Wheel Courses (rotate 6 weeks)

Getting a great bus ride! • Bus Expectations • Waiting at the Bus Stop • Remain in the appropriate area • Sit quietly reading a book or quietly talking with friends • Be respectful at all times (there are many eyes) • Greet your driver with a smile and good morning! • While on the Bus • Remain seated at all times • Begin homework or another quiet activity • Keep the bus clean (no food or drink & pick up all trash) • If there is an assigned seat per your driver

Riding the Bus… • Exiting the bus • Stand only after instructed or the bus has fully stopped • Exit with courtesy or fellow riders (don’t race or run) • Clear the bus doors • Be respectful at all times (there are many eyes) • Say thank you land good by your driver with a smile! • Leaving School to Board Bus • Walk with your class to Bus boarding • Board the appropriate bus (Look for your assigned letter) • Keep the bus clean (no food or drink & pick up all trash) Bus riding is a privilege and we expect great reports from EVERY Bus Driver…

Student Planners • Students will be supported in the use of their planners in all academic classes to prepare for college & career success. • Planners help students to keep their academic and personal tasks in order. • Parents can support students by checking the planner for completeness and teacher communications. • Planners are available at the MTM Student store for $4.00 or you can secure your own planner.

  14. Attendance = Success… Saturday Academy DAILY ATTENDANCE IS CRITICAL!! Students who miss school should attend Saturday Academy SCHEDULE: 4 Periods 8:30 – 12:30 • Online Learning Hour • English • Mathematics/Science • PE MTM is #1 in Attendance District Wide!!

Daily Attendance = success! • Presentation is everything; therefore, dress for success with the MTM school uniform • Exercise positive behavior • Comply with all Millennial expectations • Talk using appropriate language

School Leadership and School Spirit (ASB) • Students can join the Associated Student Body (ASB) to gain leadership experience and create the MTM School spirit by organizing: • Spirit Rallies • School Dances • Awards Assemblies • CST Prize Assemblies • Free Dress Days • Spirit Week Activities • Sports Competitions • Dance and Talent Shows and more….

  18. Publishing Student Work Students are able to publish their work in many ways such as: online on the MTM website, through 3-D prototyping on the 3-D printer, through podcasts, movies, comics, Socratic seminar sessions, etc.

Dressing for MTM Success Students may wear their choice of: MTM Polo Shirt with MTM LOGO Pants, shorts, or skirt in BLACK ONLY (PANTS MUST HAVE BOOT CUT - no skinny jeans or skinny pants) MTM outerwear must be SOLID BLACK or and MTM logo sweatshirt Outerwear and be: sweaters, hooded sweatshirts, or track jackets Footwear: close-toed shoes SHIRTS MUST BE TUCKED IN FOR SAFETY Physical Education: P.E. clothing must be worn in P.E. only (black athletic shorts and white athletic shirt) FRIDAY is Presentation AND/OR Assembly Dress Day MTM Logo Oxford shirt with MTM tie (boys and girls) with Shirts tucked in Pants (boys) and skirts (girls) BLACK ONLY Sweater or Sweater vest in cooler weather-optional MTM blazer –optional Black, or white knee-high socks or tights (girls-with skirts) STAR REWARDS CLUB
