  5. Standards Activities (1 of 2) • Proposal For Revision of ISO/IEC/IEEE 26702, Application & Management of the System Engineering Process to align with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 • Informally discussed at Berlin Plenary meeting, November 3-7, 2008 • Action: Prepare plan and concepts for Interim Meeting in China • Editors of 26702 and 15288 to discuss vision and revision concepts prior to Interim meeting • Present results at Interim meeting • Submit draft New Work Item Proposal (NWIP) at May 2009 Plenary • Rationale: • Provides for determining beneficial linkages and associations with other developing work, such as the integrated set of guides and results of the study groups • ISO/IEC 24748 – Guide for Life Cycle Management • ISO/IEC 24748-2 – Guide to ISO/IEC 15288 • ISO/IEC 24748-3 – Guide to ISO/IEC 12207 Technical Operations - October 3, 2008

  6. Standards Activities (1 of 2) • ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 Requirements Engineering • Coordinated development between SC7 and IEEE-CS • NWIP balloted – project approved (N3513) • Leverages IEEE standards on this topic, including IEEE Stds 830 and 1233 • WD1 reviewed in 2008 Plenary – significant comments regarding scope and content • Major contribution by Japan and U.S. • New draft in work (WD2) • Key Issues: • Content and scope • Next steps • WD2 released 16 Sep • Comments from WG7 due prior to Interim meeting – Bauer and Roedler, as well as others interested • Needs from Editor • Misses many salient points – could use a graphic to describe the parts of a requirement • Properties listed is very incomplete – 26702 includes a better coverage of these Technical Operations - October 3, 2008
