  8. Each year Bowles welcomes: Over 100 schools and colleges; Over 8,000 young people “Bowles is one of those exceptional activity venues which we all wish we had been to as a young person; a stunning location with loads to do in the fresh air!” Richard Hardwick, Director, Bowles

  9. On site at Bowles • A centrally heated modern dormitory • Two dry ski slopes • Indoor heated swimming pool • Several ropes courses • Safety and wet weather equipment • And its very own 130 million year old sandstone outcrop!

  10. Dormitory Accommodation • 104 beds over two floors • 6 beds per room • Separate teachers’ bedrooms and showers • Securely locked overnight Bowles instructors live onsite and are on call through the night

  12. Home-Cooked Food • Three healthy, hot, home cooked meals a day • ‘Family service’ – children serve themselves and each other • Tuck shop for drinks, snacks and souvenirs (only one sweet per day as part of Bowles’ healthy eating policy.) • Children also clear up after themselves!

  13. Free time • All weather games pitch • Table Tennis • Table Football • Woodland activity area • Common room with books and indoor games

Safety is Paramount All activities are thoroughly risk assessed and governed by strict safety rules and procedures: Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority certifies that the centre is operating safely.ISO 9001 Quality Standard is maintained by Bowles, one of the only Outdoor Centres in the UK which does so.All instructors are activity and first aid qualified. Reg no. L9137/R0213 Valid to 12/12/2012 Organisational Member

  21. About Bowles Bowles is a high quality outdoor education centre set alongside a stunning natural Sandstone Outcrop near Tunbridge Wells. Bowles began life in 1961 as a ‘Rock Climbing Gymnasium’, before becoming a charity in 1964. Bowles has been running Residential outdoor activity programmes for over 45 years.

  22. Bowles is a self-funding charity Bowles runs leadership, team and management training for companies. Raising money to support disadvantaged and disabled young people.
