  2. GOAL: • To create a pamphlet in order to inform people of power vampirisim/phantom power, etc.

  3. ROLE • A team of media specialists, electrical engineers and reseachers

  4. AUDIENCE • Officials of the Department of Energy and the Department of Education

  5. SITUATION • The Department of Energy, after attending an international convention, learned about Phantom Power and its effects. They want to start an information campaign and would want to start with school aged children.

  6. PURPOSE • The PAMPHLET you will produce will be used to • Tell what phantom power is • The appliances that manifest phantom power • Tips on eliminating or reducing phantom power loss

  7. PRODUCT PERFORMANCE • You will create a visually appealing pamphlet that will educate school children phantom power

  8. STANDARDS AND CRITERIA

  9. Materials needed: • Light-colored construction paper/s • Glue or paste • Scissors • Printouts of relevant pictures • Printouts of relevant articles

  10. Requirements • Information on the following: • What vampire power/phantom power means • Appliances that may be a culprit • 5 or more tips on how to minimize or get rid of vampire power loss/phantom power • What the students can do at home • Research on the topic • Download pictures (relative to the size of the pamphlet) • Print out researched materials • What the students cannot do at home • Create the pamphlet by themselves

Other things to remember: • You may add interesting facts about the topic • Save a space for your group number and names • Be ready for a presentation after submission • Deadline: Friday, 10 Dec • Reporting starts on Monday, 13 Dec • Don’t forget! • Q4 on Monday, 13 Dec. • Bring your printed materials (articles, pictures)
