  4. Your Assignment • Create a 2-3 color print from linocut. • The Theme: MN, The North Star State (Optional…however, this may earn you extra brownie points with Manders). This themed art could be entered in the 2015 3rd District Congressional show with a chance to win $200 cash! • No trite, or cliché imagery. Ex. No logos, cartoon characters, symbols or stick people. Use your drawing skill for Pete’s sake!!! • Your prints can be from different drawings. Or you can use two variations of the same drawing. • You want to create emphasis and repetition with texture, line and color.

  5. So, what’s next? • Brainstorm ideas in sketchbook? How will you visually answer the theme? • What resources will you need? What imagery will be helpful? • What are some topics / imagery you could tackle? • Wildlife? • Habitat? • Landscape? • Culture / Tradition? • Rural / City? • Sporting Activities? • Recreation? • Subculture?
