Shall We Believe “Modern-Day” Revelations? • We Must Reject Modern-day Revelations because: • Come from the wrong source – • Revelation comes by a specific route • From the Father to the Son – John 12:48-50 • From the Son to the Apostles – John 17:8,14,18 • By the Holy Spirit – John 14:25,26 ; 16:12,13; Mark 13:11

Shall We Believe “Modern-Day” Revelations? • We Must Reject Modern-day Revelations because: • “Modern-day Revelation” seeks to bypass the Biblical route • Angels – 1 Kings 13:18 “an angel spoke to me…He was lying…” Galatians 1:8,9 “any other gospel…let him be accursed” • The Holy Spirit – John 14:26; 16:13

Who was Jesus Speaking to in John 14 & 16? • John 14:26 “He will teach YOU” “bring to YOUR remembrance” “I said to YOU.” • John 16:13 “He will guide YOU” “He will tell YOU things to come” • THE APOSTLES! • Verse 22 shows Judas made a distinction between those with Him & “the world.” • Verse 12 shows it was the 12 who were with Him Apostles would be guided into ALL TRUTH!

Shall We Believe “Modern-Day” Revelations? • We Must Reject Modern-day Revelations because: • “Modern-day Revelation” seeks to bypass this route • “Nudgings” – bright lights, unusual occurrences, burning in the pit of the stomach – interpreted as manifestations of God leading people to proclaim outrageous things

  7. Modern-Day Prophecies Are Not Confirmed • Moses – Exodus 4:1-9 God gave Moses Miracles to perform that would confirm the word which he spoke came from God • Elijah – 1 Kings 18:20-24, 36-39 God gave him Victory over the prophets of Baal that caused the people to declare “The LORD He is God!”

Modern-Day Prophecies Are Not Confirmed • Jesus – John 3:1,2 “Teacher sent from God…no one can do these signs… unless God is with him.” John 20:30,31 “Jesus did many other signs” • Apostles – Mark 16:20 “the Lord working with them & confirming the word through the accompanying signs” Acts 9:42 “known…many believed on the Lord.”

Modern-Day Prophecies Are Not Confirmed • The Word of God is Confirmed - Hebrews 2:3-4 NKJV 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?”

  10. What confirmation is there of “Modern-day Revelations?” • Where are the dead raised, the deaf hearing, the blind seeing, the lame walking?

  11. Everything Needed was Given in the Days of the Apostles • John 14:26 “teach you all things… bring to your remembrance all things” • John 16:13 “guide you into all truth”

  12. When the last apostle died, ALL TRUTH had been revealed by the Holy Spirit – or Jesus LIED! • 2 Timothy 3:16,17 • 2 Peter 1:3 • Jude 3

  13. IF it is DIFFERENT than things contained in the Bible, it CONDEMNED BY GOD – Galatians 1:8,9 IF it is THE SAME as the things contained in the Bible, What Purpose Does it Serve?

  14. Can we safely ignore “Modern-day Prophecies?” Without a doubt! They come from the wrong source They are not confirmed Everything Needed was given in the days of the Apostles

  15. Always Go Back To The BIBLE Right source, confirmed, all that pertains unto life and godliness
