  3. The company The company FAGGI ENRICO S.p.a has been operating into the precious metals field since early 1960 and it occupies a surface area of about 3500 m2. Originally FAGGI ENRICO S.p.a. started its activity as precious metal recovery and refining facility. From mid 1970’s has been created the fine chemicals division specialized in the production of precious metals compounds. 3

  4. The company In 2013, FAGGI ENRICO S.p.a, located in Sesto Fiorentino, established a new Fine Chemicals and Catalysts Division in Calenzano. The 2000 m2 manufacturing site provides platinum group metal (PGM) catalysts for synthestic processes of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries. Development, caractherization and testing of new catalysts are performed in our R&D department. The flexible manufacturing platform consist of a pilot plant and full scale commercial production facility. In addition analytical laboratories provides the quality control of all raw materials, in process and finished products. 4

  5. Authorizations and Certifications • Authorization for storage, transport and recovery of precious metals from spent catalysts • UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 certification • BS OHSAS 18001:2007 (Safety Management System for recovery and production of chemicals containing precious metal) • Establishment of an environmental management system according to EMAS regulation (2005) 5

  6. Production plant Production area for homogeneous catalysts: 5 stainless steel and glass lined reactors up to 200 litres 1 glass crystallizer 100 litres and 2 filter under vacuum 1 gloves box under nitrogen for drying and packaging operations 6

  7. Production plant Production area for heterogeneuscatalysts: 5stainless steel and glass lined reactors up to 200 litres 2 stainless steel and glass lines reactors up to 3500 liters 1rotary vacuum filter 1static dryer 7

  8. R&D and AnalyticalLaboratories • The R&D and analytical laboratories are equipped with the following instrumentation: • Modular reaction systems with glass vessels from 0.5 L up to 3 L • High pressure reactor with glass and steel vessels from 250 ml up to 1 L for hydrogenation and catalyst testing • Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy ICP-OES • X ray fluorescence spectroscopy • High Performance Liquid Chromatography HPLC 8

  9. Highly qualified staff Highly qualified personnel in collaboration with Chemical Institute of Organometallic compound (ICCOM-CNR) and Organic chemistry Department of University of Florence guarantee development and production of high technology catalysts. 9
